Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about theatrical lamps, equipment rentals, ordering, and technical support.

Equipment rental

How do I check availability?

Choose a rental product to open its Gecko availability and cart flow, or contact us with your event dates and equipment list.

Can you help select equipment?

Yes. Tell us about the venue, audience, schedule, power, and creative requirements and our team will recommend an appropriate package.

Lamps, sales, and supplies

What is the difference between standard and long-life lamps?

Many standard theatrical lamps are rated around 300 hours. Extended-life versions can last much longer by operating at a lower color temperature and reduced output. Choose standard life when output matters most and long life when access and maintenance are difficult.

Should I use a 115-volt or 120-volt theatrical lamp?

A directly connected circuit generally calls for a 120-volt lamp. The voltage reaching a theatrical fixture through a dimmer and long cable run is often lower, which is why compatible 115-volt lamps are commonly used on dimmed circuits.

How do I identify a replacement lamp?

Send the fixture manufacturer and model, or the ANSI code printed on the lamp. Never substitute a different voltage or wattage without confirming compatibility.

Can XS ship supplies?

Many lamps, gel, tape, gobos, and scenic products can be shipped nationwide. Contact us for current stock, freight, and timing.
