Full-Service Event Production in Kansas City

XS Lighting & Sound was established in 1981 as a theatrical equipment and event production company in Kansas City, MO. For over 45 years, we have provided lighting, sound, and video production services for concerts, galas, fundraisers, corporate events, trade shows, weddings, and theatrical productions across the Kansas City metro area and nationwide.

Event Production Equipment Rental

Our event production services include full AV equipment rental: stage lighting (LED fixtures, moving heads, wash lights, spotlights, uplighting, and custom gobo projection), sound reinforcement (PA systems, wireless microphones, mixing consoles, and monitors), and video production (projectors, LED video walls, I-MAG camera systems, and presentation support). We deliver, set up, operate, and strike all equipment, so your team can focus on the event itself.

Corporate Event Production

We produce corporate events of all sizes in Kansas City, from boardroom presentations to company-wide conferences and award ceremonies. Our corporate production services include stage lighting design, sound reinforcement for keynote speakers and panels, video projection and presentation management, and confidence monitors for presenters. We work with your event planner or directly with your team to ensure seamless technical execution.

Gala & Fundraiser Production

Galas and fundraiser events require production that creates atmosphere without distracting from the program. We provide uplighting, gobo projection, wireless microphone systems for speeches and auctions, and video projection for slideshows and live feeds. Our team has produced events for nonprofit organizations across Kansas City and understands how to deliver high production value within budget constraints.

Concert & Live Event Production

From small club shows to large outdoor festivals, we supply the lighting, sound, and video equipment rental for live music and entertainment events in Kansas City. Our inventory includes professional PA systems, stage lighting rigs, LED video walls, and I-MAG camera systems. We provide experienced technicians for setup, operation, and strike.

Wedding Production in Kansas City

Make your wedding reception unforgettable with professional lighting, sound, and custom gobo projection. We provide uplighting to match your color scheme, custom monogram gobo projection on the dance floor, wireless microphone systems for speeches and toasts, and DJ-ready sound systems. Our team handles all setup and teardown so you and your venue coordinator don’t have to worry about the tech.

Challenging Venues and Custom Solutions

Our team takes pride in providing unique solutions to challenging event locations. If you’re dealing with a venue that has poor acoustics, limited power access, low ceilings, or unconventional layouts, we have the experience and equipment to make it work. We use battery-powered, wirelessly controlled LED fixtures for situations where running power or data cables is not feasible, and we specialize in sound reinforcement for acoustically challenging rooms.

Why Choose XS for Event Production

When you hire XS Lighting & Sound for event production, you get a single vendor for all your AV needs. That means one point of contact, one invoice, and one team that understands how your lighting, sound, and video work together. Bundling your production equipment rental saves money compared to hiring separate lighting, sound, and video vendors, and it eliminates the coordination headaches that come with multi-vendor events.

We’ve been producing events in Kansas City since 1981. Our team knows the local venues, the local vendors, and the local challenges. Contact us at sales@xslighting.com or call (816) 221-6966 for a production quote.
