Standard Gobos

Standard steel and glass gobo patterns from Apollo and Rosco, available in common theatrical sizes.

What is a gobo?

A gobo is a pattern placed at the focal point of a theatrical luminaire to control the projected light and shadow. A-size patterns are often used for broad texture; B-size patterns are commonly preferred for sharply focused images.

Incandescent fixtures may produce halation around a projected image. Correct bench focus, a doughnut in the color-frame holder, or a lower-wattage lamp can help. LED fixtures generally produce a clean sharp image; diffusion can then soften it without rainbow edges.
