What Is the ETCnomad Education Package?
ETC and High End Systems offer a special Education Package consisting of an ETCnomad base USB key and a Gadget II USB-DMX interface, exclusively for students and educators. This package turns any Mac or PC into a fully functional ETC lighting console running the complete Eos software suite.
The Education Package is limited to one per student or educator and is available at a significant discount compared to purchasing the components separately.
What’s Included
- ETCnomad USB key: Unlocks the full Eos family software (Eos, Ion, Element functionality) on your personal computer
- Gadget II USB-DMX interface: Connects your computer to DMX fixtures, allowing you to control real lighting equipment
Who Qualifies
The Education Package is available to students currently enrolled in an educational institution, internship, or apprenticeship, and to educators employed by an educational institution. You’ll need to provide proof of enrollment or employment (such as a student ID) when ordering.
Students under 18 require a parent or legal guardian signature on the consent form.
Why ETCnomad?
For students learning lighting design, having access to professional-grade control software outside the classroom is invaluable. With ETCnomad and a Gadget II, you can:
- Program shows on your own time without needing access to the school’s console
- Practice with the same Eos software used on Broadway, touring productions, and professional venues worldwide
- Control real fixtures via DMX for hands-on learning
- Build a portfolio of programmed shows before entering the job market
