Rosco Blackwrap for Light Control

Blackwrap is a matte black aluminum foil designed for shaping and controlling light spill from theatrical and architectural lighting fixtures. It is an essential tool for any lighting designer or technician who needs precise control over where light goes and where it doesn’t.

Common Applications

Blackwrap is used to create barndoor extensions on fixtures that don’t have barndoors (or when the built-in barndoors don’t cut far enough), to build custom snoots for tight beam control, to flag unwanted spill from hitting set pieces or audience areas, and to shape light output in architectural installations where permanent accessories aren’t practical.

Working with Blackwrap

Blackwrap can be molded by hand into any shape. It holds its form and can withstand the heat from most theatrical fixtures. It can be reused multiple times before it becomes too wrinkled or torn to hold shape. Combined with custom gobos, Blackwrap gives you complete control over every fixture in your rig.
