Essential Accessories for Multi-Channel Wireless Systems
When building or expanding a multi-channel wireless microphone system, the accessories matter as much as the transmitters and receivers themselves. Proper antenna cables, distribution, and rack organization are what separate a reliable system from one plagued with dropouts and interference.
Antenna Cables
RG8X coaxial antenna cables connect your antennas to your receivers or antenna distribution system. Cable length matters: longer cables mean more signal loss, so use the shortest cable that reaches. We carry RG8X cables in 10′, 15′, 25′, 50′, 75′, and 100′ lengths. For most installations, a pair of 25′ cables provides a good balance between reach and signal quality.
Always buy cables in pairs (one for antenna A, one for antenna B) for proper diversity reception.
Diversity Fin Antenna
The RF Venue Diversity Fin is the single best upgrade you can make to any multi-channel wireless system. It replaces two paddle antennas with a single cross-polarized unit that captures both vertically and horizontally polarized signals. Point it toward the stage and connect both A and B outputs to your distributor or receiver.
Network Management
For larger Sennheiser systems (8+ channels), a network switch enables centralized monitoring and control through Sennheiser’s free WSM (Wireless Systems Manager) software. The Pakedge SE-26 is a 26-port unmanaged gigabit Ethernet switch that works seamlessly with Sennheiser networked receivers.
Rack Solutions
Proper rack mounting keeps your wireless system organized, protected, and ventilated. We can configure rack solutions for any system size, from a small 4-channel setup in a portable rack to a 16-channel system in a permanent installation.
Building Your System
If you’ve purchased a Sennheiser 300/500 G4 package or EW-D package from XS, you receive a 5% instant bonus that can be applied toward any of these accessories, Point Source Audio microphones, XLR cables, or rack hardware.
